Today I'm giving away a copy of CHASING HARRY WINSTON by Lauren Weisberger.
ABOUT THE BOOK (from me and Amazon):
Emmy was headed for the marriage and kids that she wanted, until her boyfriend left her for the personal trainer- that she paid for.
Leigh has the perfect boyfriend, the perfect job, the perfect NYC apartment. So why isn't she happy?
Adriana is the gorgeous daughter of a world famous supermodel, but her looks will only last so long, as her mother keeps reminding her.
Adriana and Emmy make a pact: within a single year, each will drastically change her life. Three best friends. Two resolutions. One year to pull it off.
MY THOUGHTS
It's women's fiction (or chic lit, whatever makes you happy), so it's a little off my beaten path. Actually the book was a part of a conscious effort on my part to diversify from all YA, all day, every day.
I'm not really a big fan of the girls take NYC trope. I'm not into makeup, who's who parties, and high power executive jobs. But, I actually enjoyed this book. I identified with something in all three main characters- Leigh's love of books, Emmy's longing for the ultimate commitment, and Adriana's constant search for the next bit of excitement.
I always worry when I read books written for adults, that I'll get bogged down in miles of description or language that is unnecessarily literary so that I have to dig through the words to get the story. But I found that this book struck a good balance.
This week's rules:
1. Contest is open internationally, to followers only.
2. Contest closes on Wednesday at 11.59 EST.
3. To win tell me, what's your fave girl's crew novel/tv show? (By girl's crew, I mean a group of all girls like Babystter's Club or Charlie's Angels.)
Good luck!

i LOVE the movie The Devil Wears Prada--it's one of my all-times faves. haven't gotten around to reading the book, although i am a HUGE fan of chick-lit. just out of curiosity, do you read marianne keyes? she's superb.
and, fave girl's crew novel/tv show...gee, that's a hard question, lol. i don't know if gossip girl qualifies, but i guess that'd be it. and i'm talking about the t.v. show--haven't read those books either. :)
I used to love watching The Sleepover Club when I was a kid, so, I guess that'd be it.

Thanks for the giveaway!
I don't normally read much Chic Lit, but I did love "Sex and the City" and this book sounds very similar. So I'll probably enjoy it. That is my girl crew answer too, Sex and the City.
I loved to read Sweet Valley Twins. I would save some money every month and in the end of it would go and buy some SVT. I have read all of them (there are more than 100 in the series) and still own a few. I liked babysitters club, too. My favorite character was Stacey. Lol, bittersweet days.
Devils wears Prada was awesome. Last night at chateau marmont was okay-ish. Would love to read this one!
