Today, I'm doing a quick review of MATCHED by Ally Condie. (Remember what I said at the last review? I'm going to try to pick out one thing, that hopefully you haven't seen everywhere. And that may make my review a little more helpful.)
THE ONE BAD:
(E.J. suggested that I add one bad thing, so here goes.)
The only thing I didn't like about the book was that it dragged for a bit in the opening chapters (not the first, but right after). Of course, this may just be me. While I love cover copy letting me know what the book is about, I always feel impatient until I come to the part the cover talks about.
THE ONE GOOD:
There are so so so many excellent things about this book, but I'm going to tell you about a kind of random one. Chapter endings. Condie's chapter endings are absolutely amazing. Which is something I love. Because people most commonly pause their reading at the end of a chapter. And every chapter is a cliff-hanger or a wow, you just have to read on. (I also hate awesome chapter endings. I makes it impossible to go to the bathroom, take a shower or sleep- I can do pretty much anything else while I read- and pretty much means you HAVE to read the book in one go.

I don't think I would give up everything I dreamed of for love. But I could just be saying that because the only men I've ever fallen in love with are unattainable celebrities. I would give up my dreams for loved ones(family) if they needed me. But I don't see myself giving up my writing dreams for a man.
Thanks for the contest :)
I would if outside forces required me to choose. If the person I loved was forcing me to give it up, I probably wouldn't be in love with that person in the first place. In real life, my husband is the most supportive person of my dreams that I could possibly imagine.
I probably wouldn't. Hard to say, since I've never been in such a situation but I can't see myself sacrificing my future or dreams because of man. But as it says, never say never :)
This was a great book! I managed to avoid the slower beginning by simply not reading the cover copy.
As for your question, it depends on what I belived in and where my beliefs came from. I think Cassia's relationship with her grandfather hand even more of an impact on her change in beleifs than her budding love for Ky.
I've never been in love so maybe that's why I would say no. And I definitely wouldn't give up my dreams if the person I loved was requiring it because then he obviously doesn't love me. As for other reasons for me to choose, I still doubt I'd pick love.
Thanks for the amazing giveaway! Really been wanting to read Matched!

Once, I would have said yes, and I did. But I'm a little older and wiser now and I realize I'm more important than that.
Old follower. Thanks for the opportunity.
I loved that book. My daughter took it first and my husband yelled at her to stop reading and do her chores.
I give up a lot for love. My husband has serious lung problems & had them since we got together. I give up help around the house, doing things that an active, healthy person would do, and less worries about him going in the hospital or worse, dying. So I give up a lot and I wouldn't change it.
Thank you for the wonderful giveaway!
If it's complete, true, pure love then I might give up some things, but not every thing for love. Love is really, really important but balance is also important- family, friends, career. I say this now, but I haven't actually been in love so this answer could change. However, I'd like to think I'm no Juliet- as in I wouldn't kill myself for the sake of love:)

I've heard some great things about this book!
I am married to the love of my life, and really, when you find that true love in your life, your dreams become so much more than you ever imagined. I haven't had to give up anything for love, but we have found a balance that is healthy and true to both of us in our relationship.
